Harry Potter - Welsh Paperback 1

This Welsh paperback version was a present from my friend Mattias. So far in Welsh they have only published the first book in hardback and paperback.

Harry Potter - Gaelic Hardback 1

This Gaelic hardback edition is from Waterstone's on Piccadilly Circus. I rather excitingly saw Derek Jacobi the day I bought this.

Harry Potter - Finnish Hardback 1

This is a Finnish Hardback edition from the Oxfam bookshop by the British Museum. I really like the artwork on the Finnish books, I particularly like their picture of fluffy. I would really like to get more of these books so a trip to Finland may be in order.

Harry Potter - Dutch Paperback 1

I bought this from the Oxfam Bookshop in Cardiff when I went to visit my friend Siobhan. It was quite expensive for an Oxfam book at £8 but it is worth it.

Harry Potter - French Block 7

This is another one from e-bay.

All my French mass-market books so far, hopefully I shall nip over to Paris again soon to get some more of these and the large format ones.

Harry Potter - French Block 6

I bought this from Foyle's in St Prancras

Harry Potter - French Block 1

For some reason, that I can not work out. They republished the French books in the same size format, some cover art, same everything. The only difference is that these ones have blocks of colour on the front and on the spine. This is from Foyles at St Pancras.

Harry Potter - French 4

Again this is in plastic. I bought this from a bookstall on the seine from an almost clichéd French man, for a bargain four euros.

Harry Potter - French 2

This is still wrapped in plastic, so sorry about the reflection. I think this is from ebay. I haven't tried to read this one yet, but I really might try that in the future, though again I will be cheating as I know the English one so well.

Harry Potter - French 1

This was the first foreign Harry Potter book I bought, I got it from the now gone Borders on Oxford Street. I bought it whilst I was studying my A-level in French. I 'read' this, though I think I was at an advantage knowing the English so well.

Harry Potter - American Mass Market 1

This is the adult cover of the American books, they only published the first two books in the mass market editions. I only have the first one, so will have to keep an eye out for the second one so I can completer the mass market collection. I bought this from a second hand international bookshop in Paris.

Harry Potter - American Children's Cover Hardback 2

I bought this book from the British Bookshop, I am so grateful for people donating books to charity shops. The American hardbacks are a lot squarer than the English books, though I can't work out which I prefer.

Harry Potter - American Children's Cover Large Print 1

I found this large print edition of the sorcerer's stone in the Oxfam bookshop by the British Museum. This is the only large print American book I have, there are both hardback and paperback large print American editions. The English large print books are considerably larger than the normal English books, whereas there is not that much difference in the American ones.

Harry Potter - American Children's Cover 1

This was the first American book I got, I found it in the Lion's Bookshop in Hemel Hempstead, another amazing charity shop, all children's books are 50p. I read this edition even though I have read the English book so many times just because I still enjoy reading Sorcerer's instead of Philosopher's.

Harry Potter - Adult Cover Hardback 7

I originally bought this book for my Daddy to encourage him to read the series. Needless to say he didn't and I now have it. This is the only hardback adult cover book I have. I find very few adult covers in charity shops, so will have to keep looking to complete both adult cover sets.

Harry Potter - Adult Cover 1

This book is also from Oxfam bookshop in Berkhamsted. It is in quite poor condition, the spine is incredibly creased, but this is the only paperback I have in the Adult covers.

Harry Potter - New Art Bookmarks

Whilst working at Waterstones we got sent promotional bookmarks from the publishers to give away advertising the new Harry Potter books with the new covers. Unfortunately we didn't get sent a pack of bookmarks for the Chamber of Secrets, so I am keeping my eye out for one to complete my set. I haven't bought any of the books with these covers yet.

Harry Potter - Children's Cover Hardback 7

I bought this first edition on the night it came out. I got it from the Woolworths in Aberystwyth at the midnight release. I made my friend Rhod come buy it with me. I then had to read as much as I can in an hour and a half before having to go to sleep ready for work the next day. Never had working annoyed me more. When I bought it, it came in this special bag.

Harry Potter - Children's Cover Hardback 6

Another first edition, still in good condition.

Harry Potter - Children's Cover Hardback 5

The last three hardback books I bought on the night they were released, so they are all first editions. This one is looking a little bit tired now.

Harry Potter - Children's Cover Hardback 3

I bought this hardback edition of the Prisoner of Azkaban from the Oxfam bookshop in Berkhamsted. I can not recommend this bookshop more. The lovely lady who works there always goes out back and checks to see if they have more Harry Potter books for me. Plus they have a lovely Classics section.

Harry Potter - Children's Cover Hardback 1

I bought this hardback edition of the philosopher's stone only recently from the British Heart Foundation in Camden for the bargain price of £1. It is in really good condition.

Harry Potter - Children's Cover Spines

The picture above is the spines of the children's art paperbacks that I have shown in the blog. The picture below is of all my paperbacks so far, I will have to keep an eye out for the last three in paperback as I bought those in hardback originally.

Harry Potter - Children's Cover 4

I am sorry about the quality of this picture, the flash on the camera doesn't seem to agree with the cover. I also have two copies of this book, both with creased spines.

Harry Potter - Children's Cover 3

By the time the Prisoner of Azkaban was published, we were buying two copies of the book. One for me and one for my little brother, as I would be away at school and neither of us wanted to wait. Both of my editions are of similar quality, with creased spines.

Harry Potter - Children's Cover 2

This copy of the Chamber of Secrets was one of the few books I bought full-price from a proper book shop.

Harry Potter - Children's Cover 1

I have four copies of the Philosopher's Stone in paperback. One, my first copy of the book, the one I first read Harry Potter in is an ex-library book which can be seen in the group of paperbacks. The others, including these two, are from charity shops. The book above has the brown haired wizard on the back. The copy below has the grey haired Dumbledore on the back.

My camera put on a invisiblity cloak

Sorry for the delay in posts. Unfortunately my camera was stolen, so I am now having to borrow a friends old one. Needless to say the quality isn't as good but I have found some amazing new books in the last few weeks that I need to post about.

Harry Potter - Old Adult Cover 4

This is the fourth and final book published with the old adult cover. I bought this book off ebay, but is in quite good condition. All three of versions of the old covers are different, book 3 is gloss and this book has a different spine. I need to find more copies of these books to see if there are matching versions.

Harry Potter - Old Adult Cover 3

I bought this edition off ebay, it unfortunately has an inscription inside. Also this copy seems to have a gloss to the cover whereas the other two old cover editions I have a mat cover. I have never seen another copy of this book in real life so do not know if it comes with a mat cover.

Harry Potter - Old Adult Cover 2

This is one of the original adult covers for the Harry Potter books, they only did these covers for the first four books and then changed to the adult covers they have now. I bought this book in a charity shop in Tring

Harry Potter - French Large Format 7

This is the only book I have in the large format. I bought this book on the Right Bank of the Seine for eight euros. This is also still wrapped up in plastic. I hope soon to return to Paris to try and complete this set. I much prefer the large format to the two French mass market versions.

Harry Potter - Special Edition 7

So far this is the only special edition book that I own. It is a first edition book that I bought from Waterstones Riverside, whilst I was working there. Please forgive the reflection it is still wrapped in cellophane. Due to the cost and the poor conditions or the many versions of this book that I find in the shops, I still need another six to complete the set.

Harry Potter - Large Print 3

This was the second large print book I bought. I bought this book off ebay, unfortunately it has a dedication inside the front cover but aside from that it is good condition. I still need five books to finish the large print collection.

Harry Potter - Large Print 2

I bought this first edition of Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets from Waterstones in Islington. This was my first large print book, before this one I didn't realize they had printed large print versions.
